To a Gypsy Girl Outside the Credit Union

To the Gypsy Girl I gave a coin
and wished her luck today,
She held it up and quickly said
‘Sir, good luck I’ve had since I lived’
and stretched a spindly leg,
‘Too rich I’ve no want to be, take it back.
You have more want than me,
If not my time you spoil.’
I took it back and loved her parting smile.

Creative Writing

 Words, words, words, words,
The scheming, the dreaming words
Whispered words, pouring words
Words of love, words of passion,
Baby words, last words,
Words of trust, words of lust,
Words with wings spreading things
Like alarm and shame
Words that should not have a name.
Words of desire forged in fire
Words of loss, words of gain,
Words of sages, words of fools
Words the kitful bag of tools.
Words of caution, words of fortune
Words the building blocks of all emotion.

A Life

I burned the candle at both ends.
It didn’t last the night
But for my loves and for my friends
It shone a lovely light.

Then dawned a dark and gloomy dawn
That never made a day
And through the half life
And the long night
I have near outstayed my stay.

Invisible

You look fine no outer sign of pain
you look good as anyone should
this MS gives some strange peculiar wallop
a jolt miraculous to the point of invisibility!
Not recognisable a fairly dumb disease
peace and calm, you wonder the change
I have become a reformed optimist over time
It’s difficult to explain this uneasiness.
Not offensive and being politically correct
you do not know where you are going
thousands of us doing it all together
going into soundless prayer in deafening
silence.

My Brother

Barry is my brother’s name,
Three years after me he came.
My father said we look the same,
And this is where he gets his fame.

Barry like playing computer games,
And he is very good at same.
He also like working on the farm,
And because of this he does no harm.

We go to bed at night,
He always checks I’m alright.
I love him so very much,
I hope he never loses touch.

Stand and Deliver.

Help me fight back the tide,
Broken spirited,
And fight back the tears.
Of a thousand lonely years.

Please tell me if I’m bright,
Am I shining like an angel?
Isn’t it amazing,
Isn’t it beautiful,
Isn’t it?
I need to hear it, and feel it!
In the mirror
And in your eyes!
Tell me I’m your hero, and I promise I’ll rescue you!
Here’s my last chance to make a stand,
And be counted.
You put your trust in me.
I’ll never let you down,
Too much has been invested,
It’s time to shake off the cobwebs,
Time for talking has finished.
Now it’s time… To stand and
deliver!
Don’t you love when that happens?
When you need the sun,
But instead it rains a million shiny pennies!
And every one you pick up brings you luck.
Hidden treasure only to be discovered through your intervention.
Good intentions, let’s hope so!
For now I’ve put my trust in your trust in me!
To stand
And deliver.
And when I stand and deliver,
You will listen,
For I have seen, and been,
And now I’m perched on a podium. I am the champion!
Isn’t it amazing,
Isn’t it beautiful,
When I up-stand and deliver,
My heart begins to quiver.
And isn’t it wonderful…
Isn’t it?
